The calculator is useful precisely because it can show Swovee losing. If the result depends on implausible output or day-rate assumptions, the project does not yet have an economic case.

DEFAULT LABOR CONTEXT

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports a May 2025 mean wage of $31.42/hour across construction and extraction occupations. It reports March 2026 average private-industry employer compensation of $46.60/hour. The model uses higher editable field rates to allow for specialization and contractor burdens beyond compensation.

NOT INCLUDED

Regional pricing, contractor overhead and profit, escalation, taxes, financing, bonds, insurance, freight, mobilization beyond the stated setup, permits, professional fees and scope outside the printed work.

REQUIRED BEFORE USE

Replace every default with quotations, crew studies, local wage burdens, a project WBS, material test data, equipment ownership costs, failure allowance and a schedule built by the delivery team.
